Heidelberg wins coveted iF design award

Industrie Forum Design Hannover (iF) has presented the Eurobind 4000 adhessive binder from Heidelberg with the iF product design award 2009. The judges, all specialists in their relevant field, awarded the iF design seal to products that meet all the requirements for of criteria. Since 1990, Heidelberg has won a total of 16 iF designs.

The iF product design awards will be presented in Hannover on the first day of CeBIT,3rd March 2009.

Pragati tie-up with Marins International

Marins International, a French company with patented technology for their “Lama” foldable display systems has appointed Pragati Offset Private Limited, Hyderabad, as their exclusive Licensee for India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh. The Lama is a patented cardboard display system that opens up automatically into position.

Media companies cut costs

The print media industry is reeling under recession with most newspaper  publishers having put their expansion plans on hold. Prices for newsprint, that constitutes 60 per cent of the cost of a newspaper, have shot up by at least 50 per cent in the last six months and are eating into the profits of newspaper companies.

Print media ad volume dropped sharply by 45 per cent hence newspapers have shelved their expansion plans. Periodicity of some supplements is being decreased while some may need to close down.

The retail sector in India has been growing at a healthy rate. Various global rankings on retail have declared India as one of the superior retail destinations for organized retail.
